A short but sweet one today! I love the Studio Ghibli films, and I was very excited to see all of them added to Netflix earlier in the year. I couldn’t wait to dig into some of the lesser-known ones, as well as revisit my favourites Princess Kaguya and My Neighbour Totoro. Three months later, and I still haven’t touched them. They’d completely slipped my mind until I saw a video doing the rounds on Twitter of Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki giving a quick tutorial on how to draw Totoro: the cute, iconic, forest creature from My Neighbour Totoro. I quickly update both of the major lists in my life: my Netflix one, and my new things.
This seems like the quickest tutorial ever, but after pausing and restarting a couple of times, I got as close as I could.

This was so much fun, and a lovely quick new thing to do. I’m so glad I saw that video otherwise I’d have probably forgotten about the films for a few months more. I can’t wait to settle down with a cup of tea and stick My Neighbour Tororo on.
