Day 107 – Yoghurt face mask

I had two new options for today, both with the same name: homemade face mask. In Germany, it has now been recommended that we wear a facemask outside and whilst shopping, so I intended to try and hand sew one. Unfortunately, it’s taking a little longer than I expected and I haven’t yet finished it. The day was not lost however, as I had my backup – a DIY yoghurt face mask.

The thought of smearing yoghurt on my face did not excite me, but I thought I’d give it a go. According to hello and glow, greek yoghurt will help moisturise, tighten, brighten, and firm your skin. It all sounds a bit too good to be true, and I only needed 1 tbsp of the yogurt and 1tsp of honey (added for extra moisturising benefits) so I wasn’t losing much if it didn’t work out.

As it turns out, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it was weird at first smothering yoghurt over my face, but it actually was quite cooling and soothing. I left it on for 10 minutes, washed it off with a cloth and warm water, and immidiately felt a difference – my skin felt smooth, brighter, and yes, tighter. Whilst I’m not going to commit to doing this every week, I will definitely try it again – it really did make my skin feel great.
